  • Train crash remands – The New Zealand Herald, 28 March 2006
    A driver was injured last July when empty freight wagons crashed into his ute. Two train drivers charged in a criminal test case after a freak rail crash in the Wairarapa will face trial in Wellington District Court for prosecution under Section 7 of the Railways Act 2005. They are jointly charged with an act or omission in respect of a rail vehicle where they knew, or ought to have reasonably known, that their act or omission was likely to cause death or serious injury to individuals.
  • Copter Crash – The New Zealand Herald, 9 September 2006
    Police have charged two Nelson men with manslaughter after the death of a helicopter pilot in a crash near Murchison last year. One man was killed and another survived the crash with serious injuries. Detective Sergeant Mark Kaveney of Nelson police said two men aged, 55 and 58, had been charged with manslaughter. He said the charges related to maintenance on the helicopter.
